The power in my apartment complex just went out. I went to reset the clock on my microwave and see that the screen says “Touch the ‘clock’ pad to enter the current time.”
First of all, shouldn’t I “press” it? “Touch” is awkward, like I’m supposed to give it a sweet caress to get it to start counting again. I touch the clock “pad” but nothing happens. So I press it harder, still nothing. I tried just entering the time, but nothing happens. Not even an “error” beep. It just keeps telling me to caress its pads, this time in French. I eventually realized I was supposed to touch “stop/cancel” and then touch the clock pad.
Wouldn’t the logical interface be to just provide me with an input prompt, and wait for me to enter the time when the unit is booted up? If the clock is flashing “12:00” or is just blank, its pretty obvious I need to figure out what time it is and tell the microwave.
That’s just the newest oddity with the thing. I won’t even start on the fact that the cook time doesn’t begin until I’ve left the room.
